To participate you must :

Be fully aware of the length and specificity of the test, and be perfectly trained for it.

To have acquired, prior to the race, a real capacity for personal autonomy enabling them to manage the problems inherent in this type of event, and in particular :

  • Knowing how to cope with harsh desert climatic conditions (heat during the day, cold at night, dehydration, orientation) without outside help.

  • Know how to manage physical or mental problems resulting from fatigue, digestive problems, muscular or joint pain, minor injuries...

  • To be fully aware that the role of the organization is not to help a rider deal with these "little problems".

  • To be fully aware that for such an outdoor activity, safety depends on the rider's ability to adapt to encountered or foreseeable problems.

A medical certificate less than one year old attesting to the competitor's fitness to take part in an ultra-trail is required. It must be sent to the organization no later than 1 month before the start.


Regulations :

Article 1: Organization
Cy & Sy Aventures organizes the Ultra Trail Plage Blanche (UTPB) and the Trail d'Aoreora (TAO) which will take place from March 17, 2023 to March 23, 2023 in Morocco. In case of dispute, Swiss law is applicable.

Article 2: Definition
The UTPB and TAO are desert races during which competitors are self-sufficient in terms of food and health.

Article 3: Participation
Any person over the age of majority may take part under his/her own responsibility. The participant must assess his/her fitness for the event. However, the organization reserves the right to prohibit the start or to interrupt the race of any participant whose attitude, physical or mental state is incompatible with the pursuit of the effort. Any participant who is obliged to take a place in an organization vehicle during the race (due to fatigue, orientation problems, etc.) will be disqualified from the race, but may continue without being classified, with the agreement of the organization.

Article 4: Mandatory equipment

  • Backpack

  • Minimum 2l water reserve

  • Headlamp + spare batteries

  • GPS + spare batteries

  • Survival blanket

  • Cell phone with access to the Moroccan network

  • Windproof jacket

  • 4000Kcal (140km) - 2000Kcal (90km) - 1000Kcal (50km)

  • Signal mirror

  • Lighter

  • Whistle

  • Dressings, disinfectants

A mandatory equipment check will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Any participant failing to pass the check will be refused the start.

Article 5: Time barrier - Neutralization
Bivouac and end of the Ultra Trail Plage Blanche: 140km: 40h after the start, 90km: 25h after the start, 50km: 12h after the start.

The race may be neutralized at any time or its course modified if the organizers deem it necessary for the safety of participants.

Article 6: Orientation
A portable GPS provided by participants is mandatory. It is strongly recommended to choose a battery-powered GPS model and not a rechargeable one. GPS can be rented from the organizers. A route map will be sent to participants in the days leading up to the start.

Competitors must be able to communicate their position to the organization at all times.

Article 7: Check Points (CPs)
Five CPs spaced between 15 and 28 kilometers apart will mark the course. They will provide competitors with hot and cold water, as well as tents for shelter and rest. Each competitor must leave the CPs with at least 2 liters of water.

Article 8: Withdrawal
In the event of withdrawal, the competitor must notify race HQ or the nearest CP. He/she will remain self-sufficient until repatriated.

Article 9: Medical team
Each participant must be able to treat minor problems (blisters, tendonitis, gastro-intestinal problems) on his or her own. Medical staff will be on hand to deal with more serious problems.

Article 10: Insurance
Each participant undertakes to be fully aware of the risks that such a race may entail. Furthermore, CY & SY Aventures declines all responsibility in the event of physical or psychological failure or accidents during the event or during its transfer. Art. 100 para. 1 of the Swiss Code of Obligations (RS 220) is reserved. Participants must take out repatriation insurance.

Article 11: Registration

Registration fees include :

  • One night's accommodation in Agadir in a double room on Friday, March 17, 2023

  • Transfer Agadir-Fort Bou Jerif on Saturday, March 18, 2023 (departure 8:00 am)

  • Full board at campsites (excluding alcohol)

  • Mineral water

  • Medical supervision

  • One night's accommodation in Agadir in a double room on Wednesday, March 22, 2023

  • T-shirt

Not included:

  • Meals preceding the Friday evening of March 17, 2023

  • Beverages other than mineral water

  • Nights in single rooms

  • Anything not listed in article 11

Article 12: Cancellation
Cancellation requests must be sent to the organization by registered letter.

  • Until February 15, 2023 cancellation fee of 100 euros

  • Until March 1, 2023 cancellation fee of 600 euros

  • After March 1, 2023 cancellation fee of 1290 euros
